2024 Caterwaul Cabernet Sauvignon - Regusci Vineyard750ml

The structured years are always the best years at Regusci.  The abundant fruit we find here every year adds a tremendous amount of complexity and texture when the tannins are bigger.  After more than a decade of producing our Regusci Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, certain vintages still serve as a reminder that exceptional sites have a way of amplifying exceptional years. When great dirt, thoughtful farming, and a restrained hand in the cellar come together, the vineyard gets to shine. A brooding, black-fruited expression of clone 15, this Cabernet’s complexion is the first hint at its concentration. Layers of black currant, sanguine meat, sandalwood, and warm iron rise from the glass. A core of crushed rock and finely textured tannins frame a supple palate of blueberry, aged tobacco, dried herbs, and a touch of cocoa nib. The finish is long, persistent, and remarkably energetic. Rather than drying the palate, the wine's firm yet polished tannins create a mouthwatering tension that lingers long after every sip.
